Crisis, What Crisis?
Here is a story to remind everyone about the current financial crisis.
Muthu, a kacang putih man at a small town, sells kacang putih for many years. He has a lot of customers because his kacang putih is fresh and tasty. He also puts up a few signs near where he sells to increase his sales as part of his simple marketing strategy. Being uneducated, he does not know anything about the economy. He orders more stock to sell to replenish his stock.

One day, his educated son came back from overseas and told his father just how bad the economy is. He told his father that banks are closing, people are getting fired and everywhere, business is just plain bad.
Since his son is the educated and he believed his son, Muthu didn’t bother to put up his signs everyday, he ordered less kacang and started to work less hours.
Within days, his sales fell and told his son, “You are right, my son” Sales fell and we are in recession.
Just next to Muthu’s kacang putih stall, Ramasamy and his son sells ais kacang. Ramasamy did not manage to send his son for higher education. All they knew was to maintain the quality of his ais kacang and after everyday, he sharpened the blade to his ais kacang machine to keep making fine ice, a key ingredient to have tasty ais kacang.
They heard from Muthu that business is bad but just kept working hard and increased the types of ais kacang to cater for different taste. This also kept the customers coming back to try other flavors. As a result, business increased and they wondered, “What recession was Muthu talking about?”
Be careful of what you are thinking of.
~ Phil 4:8 In conclusion my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and honorable.
