Young Cancer – 1200 Every Year!
This is an article I got from the Sun newspaper. Statistics from the National Cancer Registry reveal there are 1,200 cases of cancer in children every year. From 2003 to 2005, the five most common types of cancers among Malaysian children are: –
- leukemia (40%),
- lymphomas (10%),
- tumour of the central nervous system (9%),
- germ cell tumours (6%) and
- soft tissue sarcoma (5%).

Many parents think critical illness don’t happen to their children. Although the risk is lower compared to adults, the article above shows that many children do suffer from cancer and other serious medical condition. Therefore making sure you have adequate medical insurance cover for children is equally important.
